A winter wonderland
In just over three hours from Dublin airport, you and your family will find yourselves right in the heart of Lapland’s festive scene. There are no skyscrapers here in northern Finland, just cosy log cabins and plenty of wildlife, like reindeer. There’s more reindeer living in Lapland than people. For an extra special getaway, you can book a Christmas visit, spending the big day in the real winter wonderland. It’s a great way for the entire family to really get into the Christmas spirit.

Meet Lapland’s most famous resident
If you’re travelling with children, meeting the big man himself will likely be at the top of their to-do list. The good news is that Santa makes sure he has plenty of time in his busy schedule to meet the kids. Meet and greets may be the highlight of the trip, but there are lots of other great activities for children. Festive stories around the fireside and reindeer spotting are just some of the fun options.

Adrenaline-fuelled activities
Lapland is a popular family destination thanks to its Christmassy scene, but it also has plenty to offer adults looking to try some thrilling winter sports. The high snowfall in northern Finland makes this a great place to try your hand at snowmobiling, and other action-packed activities like skiing, ice karting, and snowshoe excursions. And at the end of the day, you’ll find plenty of friendly, welcoming bars in the village of Levi which is Lapland’s most lively nightlife hotspot with a big apres-ski scene.

THE SNOW ELF HOTEL & APARTMENTS

An indoor swimming pool, plenty of space to play in the snow, and regular visits from Captain T – the Snow Elf Hotel and Apartments are well geared up for family getaways.

This resort-style complex has a real fairytale setting – it’s bordered on all sides by snow-dusted pine forests. It’s a family-friendly spot, with an indoor pool and lots of activities on offer.

As well as comfortable bedrooms and spacious apartments, you can stay in cosy log cabins, which feature traditional décor, a fireplace and a sauna.

This hotel comes with a SnowClub, where children can get involved with entertainment and activities. You can join the SnowClub entertainment team and our mascot Captain T for indoor and outdoor activities. Like snowdog-building and tobogganing, snowgolf and marshmallow toasting. There’s lots of entertainment, too, like pantomimes and festive-themed parties.

Itinerary
Day 1

The Warm-up

When you arrive at the airport, Santa’s elves will greet you and take you to your accommodation. Then you’ve got a free afternoon to get a feel for the place. Strap on some skis and head for the slopes or relax by the fire in your cabin or hotel.

Day 2

Winter Wonderland

You’ll get a big dose of Lappish culture today at the Snow Village. In the morning you can enjoy a snowmobiling session, where you’re pulled on a sledge behind a snow mobile. Then you’ll get to see a traditional Arctic Circle crossing ceremony. You’ll have some free time in the afternoon. Hop into a snowsuit and challenge your family to a snowball fight. Or try your hand at decorating cookies and making Christmas ornaments, zoom through the snow on a toboggan ride, and top off your day with a face to face meeting with Santa himself.

Day 3

Frosty Fun

You can book onto one of our optional excursions today. You could cruise through the countryside while driving a snowmobile or on the back of a husky-driven sleigh. Or just spend the day nursing a warm wine in a local bar. Guests on a three-night visit will finish their trip with a gala dinner, followed by fireworks.

Day 4

Festive Fun

Guests on four-night trips will have another day of optional excursions today. Later, you’ll tuck into a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. There’ll be fireworks, too.

Day 5

Your final day in Lapland and your flight back to Dublin.
